It is normal to have questions before starting therapy, especially when you are navigating divorce, relationship pain, or a major life transition. I offer in-person therapy in Roseville and online therapy throughout California for adults and couples who want support, clarity, and practical tools. The answers below can help you understand what working together may look like.
What makes working with you different?
I bring more than 30 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families through painful and complicated seasons of life. My style is warm, direct, compassionate, and practical.
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I will tailor the work to your needs, your goals, and what is happening in your life right now.
What concerns can you help me with?
I help adults and couples work through divorce recovery, separation, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, attachment wounds, betrayal, empty nest, and other major life transitions.
Many of my clients are high-functioning people who are used to carrying a lot. Therapy gives you space to slow down, understand what is happening, and begin making choices from a clearer place.
Do you offer divorce recovery therapy?
Yes. Divorce can affect your emotions, identity, family, finances, and sense of security. Whether the separation is new or something you have been carrying for a while, I can help you sort through the pain and begin rebuilding.
Our work may include emotional regulation, decision-making support, self-trust, relationship patterns, co-parenting stress, and creating a life that feels more like your own again.
Can you help with relationship wounds or betrayal?
Yes. Relationship wounds can make it hard to trust yourself, trust others, or feel safe in connection. Betrayal, attachment wounds, and repeated relationship patterns can all leave you questioning what went wrong and how to move forward.
Therapy can help you understand your emotional responses, strengthen boundaries, and begin building healthier relationships.
Do you work with couples?
Yes. I work with couples who want help understanding the patterns that keep creating distance, conflict, or disconnection. Couples therapy can support clearer communication, deeper understanding, and more intentional choices about the relationship.
When needed, we can also work through trust, betrayal, life transitions, and the stress that comes with major family or relationship changes.
Do you offer in-person therapy, online therapy, or both?
I offer in-person therapy at my office in Roseville, California, and online therapy throughout California. Online sessions can be a helpful option if you live elsewhere in the state or need more flexibility.
Do you offer a complimentary consultation?
Yes. I offer a complimentary 15-minute initial consultation so you can ask questions, share a little about what is bringing you to therapy, and get a feel for whether working together feels like the right fit.
This is also a chance for me to understand what kind of support you are looking for and help you decide on the next step.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
My work is integrative, which means I draw from several approaches depending on your needs. These may include attachment-based therapy, CBT, compassion-focused therapy, emotionally focused therapy, family systems, Gottman Method, mindfulness-based therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
I also integrate coaching, mindfulness, emotional regulation tools, and practical strategies that help you use what we discuss in your daily life.
What is a private therapy intensive?
A private therapy intensive is a longer, focused session designed to help you work more deeply on a specific concern. Intensives can be helpful when you want dedicated time to focus on divorce recovery, relationship patterns, emotional healing, or a major life transition.
Instead of spreading the work across shorter weekly sessions, an intensive gives us more room to slow down, look carefully at what is happening, and focus on meaningful change.
Who is a therapy intensive best suited for?
An intensive may be a good fit if you feel ready for focused work and want more time than a traditional session allows. It can be especially helpful if you are at a turning point, feeling stuck, or trying to make sense of a painful relationship or life change.
We can talk during your consultation about whether an intensive or ongoing therapy would be the better fit for your needs.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. I can provide documentation that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly if you want to understand your out-of-network benefits before starting therapy.
How much do sessions cost?
My current fee is $285 for individual therapy and $310 for couples therapy. Court-affiliated services are $385, and a 4-hour Wholehearted Intensive is $1,800.
When are sessions available?
I generally see clients Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Availability can vary, so we can talk about scheduling during your consultation.
If you are a current client, you may also have access to scheduling through the client portal.
Will I need to stay in therapy forever?
No. Therapy is meant to support your growth, healing, and ability to move through life with more clarity and confidence.
Some clients come for short-term support during a specific transition. Others choose deeper or longer-term work. We will talk together about what feels useful and appropriate for you.
How do I get started?
You can get started by scheduling a complimentary consultation, calling 916-773-4040, or filling out the contact form and clicking send.
Once I hear from you, we can talk about what you are looking for, answer your questions, and decide whether therapy with me feels like the right next step.
